About this costume:
The outfit is sort of a mash up of the different outfits Violet wears because her
outfit colors, hair and sunglasses morph into various colors. The movie is set
in the future where a subculture of humans has emerged who have been
modified genetically by a vampire-like disease called hemophagia, giving them
nearly super powers. Violet is trying to save a boy the government wants to
destroy because they think he is a threat to humans.
This was just an OK movie, but I liked the character and the outfit looked comfortable and easy to do.
Sometimes you need an easy outfit to wear in between the elaborate ones. And sometimes I just like a
good excuse to wear fangs. This covered both aspects. I just wish I had gotten more photos!
How I made the costume:
Outfit:
This costume was more assembled than actually made. I already had a pair of tight leather looking
leggings and paired that with a black top and jacket. The only part I actually made was the belt. Violet
wears a belt with some sort of device on it. I can’t even remember what it was supposed to do now. But I
used 3” wide elastic for the band and then made the device out of spray-painted cardboard layers.
Shoes:
Black knee-high boots
Accessories:
I got the yellow lens glasses from a motorcycle shop. They prompted one guy to ask “Who are you
supposed to be, Vampire Bono?” Real funny…
Hair & Make-up:
I’m wearing a black wig, regular make-up and vampire teeth.
